Marine insurance industry experts launch RedSky Insurance
Marine insurance specialist Jill Murphy has launched a new marine underwriting agency with Heather Roberts and Jodie Drinnan.
RedSky Insurance brings together an underwriting team that has more than 96 years industry experience and an existing relationship with Lloyd’s to underwrite cargo, hull and machinery, yacht, pleasure craft and liability policies.
Co-founder Jill Murphy said the new agency would be, experienced and flexible, offering a true alternative to the big players in the market.
“We are passionate about what we do, and we have the experience and relationships to create tailor-made marine insurance for our corporate customers whilst also offering online solutions for products such as pleasurecraft.” Ms Murphy said.
“Marine insurance can be difficult to understand because it is different to the other general insurance lines. This has resulted in a lot of insurers pulling back or offering a beige, one size fits all, product.
“Our goal is to bring some colour back into the market and help clients find innovative solutions.”
Based out of Sydney, RedSky will leverage the collective industry experience of Ms Murphy, Heather Roberts and Jodie Drinnan; supported by Alex Heckenberg.
Ms Murphy has been a coverholder at Lloyd’s since 2012 and formerly held senior positions with AIG Australia and AON Risk Solutions. Her current portfolio was previously managed by Agile Underwriting and has been transferred to RedSky in an off-market transaction.
Ms Roberts has over 20 years broking experience and 10 years in underwriting in senior roles with corporate insurers. Similarly, Ms Drinnan spent the past 17 years in corporate insurance, is an experienced cargo underwriter and formerly the National Distribution Manager for QBE.

proud of,” Ms Roberts said.
